Update to Shooting Investigation – Suspect Charged

 

(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department have identified the victim and suspect involved in the shooting investigation that occurred along the 6000 block of Abbotts Park Drive on May 4th, 2020.

 

The victim has been identified as Amari Taylor (B/F, 20 years of age) of the 6000 block of Abbotts Park Drive.

 

The suspect has been identified as William Singleton (B/M, 19 years of age) of the 3900 block of Rosehill Road.

Singleton was apprehended at his apartment. He has been charged with Attempted Murder, Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury, Shooting into Occupied Dwelling (2 counts), and Injury to Personal Property. He is currently in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $25,000 secured bond.

Shooting Investigation

           

(Fayetteville, NC) – On May 4th, 2020, at 07:50 am, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department were dispatched to the 6000 block of Abbotts Park Drive in reference to a female that had been shot in an apartment.

 

The preliminary investigation revealed that the female victim had been in a domestic disturbance prior to the male suspect leaving and firing multiple shots into the residence. The male suspect has been apprehended. The victim was shot in the back and has been transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

 

Aggravated assault detectives are on scene. The identities of those involved are currently being withheld.
