Shooting Investigation



(Fayetteville, NC) – On Thursday, May 14, 2020, at 9:51 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department were dispatched to the 700 block of Topeka Street in reference to reports of a subject being shot.


Upon arrival, officers found two males in need of medical attention, one of the males had been shot in the neck. Officers performed life saving measures until emergency medical personnel arrived.


The preliminary investigation revealed this was a domestic related incident. After the suspect shot the victim, a physical altercation ensued. Both the victim and suspect were transported to an area hospital. Both subjects are listed in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.


The identities of both subjects are currently being withheld. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
